Padauk Cutting Board Blank for Custom Cutting Boards and Glue-Ups

Quick answer: Padauk Cutting Board Blank is a project-ready hardwood blank for Edmonton woodworkers building cutting boards, serving boards, accent strips, glue-ups, and small woodworking gifts. Choose it when you want a vivid orange-red exotic hardwood for cutting board accents, decorative strips, and statement details.

Padauk Cutting Board Blank is designed for makers who want useful stock for cutting board layouts, contrast strips, patterned glue-ups, and small shop projects. Pair species by colour, grain, and hardness so the finished board looks intentional and performs well.

Before cutting or glue-up, confirm the grain direction, colour match, final dimensions, and finish plan. For cutting boards, use a food-safe finish system and follow safe prep practices for the full board, not just the individual blank.

Kingma Lumber supplies Padauk project stock for Edmonton-area woodworkers with local pickup and practical support for species selection, finishing, and project planning.

Working and finishing Padauk

Works well overall but has a moderate blunting effect on cutters and its fine dust is a known sensitizer for some woodworkers, so dust collection matters; glues well despite its oily surface.

A UV-inhibiting finish slows (but does not stop) the colour shift from bright orange to brown; commonly left in the sun briefly to accelerate an even patina before finishing. Popular for cutting boards and butcher blocks for its colour contrast.

Sold as is. Grain, colour and figure vary from piece to piece. Confirm the dimensions your build needs before you buy.
