Working and finishing Padauk
Works well overall but has a moderate blunting effect on cutters and its fine dust is a known sensitizer for some woodworkers, so dust collection matters; glues well despite its oily surface.
A UV-inhibiting finish slows (but does not stop) the colour shift from bright orange to brown; commonly left in the sun briefly to accelerate an even patina before finishing. Popular for cutting boards and butcher blocks for its colour contrast.
Sold as is. Grain, colour and figure vary from piece to piece. Confirm the dimensions your build needs before you buy.
