Working and finishing Makassar Ebony

Extremely dense and hard, with a strong blunting effect on cutters; interlocked grain can tear out, so slow feed rates, sharp carbide, and light passes are needed. Pre-drill for screws and fasteners.

Polishes to a very high natural lustre with minimal finish; oil finishes deepen the streaked figure. Common in fine furniture, fretboards, and turned objects rather than food-contact ware.

Sold as is. Grain, colour and figure vary from piece to piece. Confirm the dimensions your build needs before you buy.
