Rose Gum colour, grain, and figure
Heartwood colour goes from pink through to reddish brown. The paler sapwood is sometimes hard to distinguish from the heartwood.
Straight or shallowly interlocked grain, with an even texture that is medium to coarse.
Working notes
Hand and machine tools work it fairly easily. Rose Gum shrinks a great deal while drying and moves quite a lot in service. It takes glue, stain and finish well.
