Deglupta is best understood by how it looks, how it works, and where it should be used. This guide explains the practical buying details before sending you to the right Kingma products.
Overview
Deglupta is an imported specialty hardwood. Native to Southeast Asia and also planted across the tropics. Common uses include veneer, furniture, millwork and paper pulp.
The heartwood runs from pale to mid red. The sapwood is pale yellowish brown and is not always clearly set apart from it.
The grain is interlocked. Texture is medium to coarse and uniform, and natural luster is good.
Hand and machine tools cut it easily, but strongly interlocked grain often tears out on quartersawn surfaces. Gluing and finishing go well.
Aside from the usual risks of any wood dust, no other health reactions are linked to Deglupta.
Deglupta should be sold by project fit: colour, workability, durability, and the format the customer actually needs.
Common uses include veneer, furniture, millwork and paper pulp.
Avoid specifying it by name alone; confirm board size, moisture, colour, figure, and the project environment before buying.
Test finishes on offcuts first, especially when colour, blotching, outdoor exposure, or grain filling matters.
Choose boards, slabs, plywood, blanks, or posts based on the project rather than species name alone.

It depends on density, grain direction, and tooling. Test cuts on offcuts first, and choose Maple, Cherry, Walnut, or Poplar when easier machining is the priority.
